Rachel Roy is an inspiration to any young aspiring designer studying currently study at a liberal arts college or university. Many at conventional institutions majoring in another field not linked to fashion find it difficult to continue on. Roy too was eager to leave. However, she stuck it out and graduated from Columbia Union College in Washington, D.C. with a degree in communications. Despite not going to a design school, Roy made her face and style known throughout the fashion world once she moved to New York.
